Before You Begin

Sit approximately 3 metres (10 feet) from your computer screen.
Ensure the room is well illuminated.
Wear your prescription glasses or contact lenses if you normally use them.
Cover one eye without applying pressure.
Read the chart from the top down until the letters become difficult to identify.
Select the smallest line you could read clearly.
Repeat the same procedure for the other eye.
